Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, emphasized on Thursday that the adversary aimed to dismantle the resistance with its aggressive actions but encountered strong opposition, termed the “Battle of The Formidable in Might.”
In a broadcast address, Sheikh Qassem stated that for over two months, they have faced sacrifices, suffering, loss of life, and injuries with patience, determination, and faith in God.
Sheikh Qassem has attributed three primary elements to the success attributed to divine intervention in their recent conflict. Firstly, he highlighted the presence and unwavering resolve of fighters committed to martyrdom on the battlefield. Secondly, he emphasized the profound impact of the martyrs’ sacrifices, particularly noting the influence of His Eminence Sayyed Nasrallah, whose bloodshed fueled the perseverance of the combatants. Lastly, he underscored the significance of re-establishing leadership and command frameworks within the organization, which facilitated efficient management of the “Battle of The Formidable in Might.”
Hezbollah’s leader commended the resilience of displaced Lebanese citizens, attributing their steadfastness as instrumental to achieving victory. He outlined Hezbollah’s strategy to finance reconstruction efforts and expressed gratitude for the financial backing from Iran, Iraq, and Yemen in supporting these initiatives.
Sheikh Qassem announced that individuals whose homes were entirely demolished will be provided with a financial package amounting to $14,000. This assistance is intended to facilitate the purchase of new furniture and cover the cost of renting alternative accommodation for a period of one year.
His Eminence emphasized the Lebanese government’s role in clearing debris, addressing infrastructure issues, and contributing to reconstruction efforts.
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that the extraordinary resilience demonstrated by the fighters has captivated global attention, showcasing unmatched valor and bravery on the frontlines.
“Our triumph is attributed to the adversary’s inability to fulfill its goals, signifying their defeat. Our resilience is unwavering and will continue to prevail with even greater strength.”
He stated that they had consented to the ceasefire framework established by Resolution 1701, emphasizing that it is neither a new nor an independent agreement.
Sheikh Qassem highlighted that United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 calls for Israel’s withdrawal and restricts any armed presence south of the Litani River. He further emphasized that the resolution includes mechanisms designed to enable Lebanon to restore its borders in accordance with the established timeline.
Israel has reportedly breached the ceasefire agreement on more than 60 occasions, raising concerns over adherence to the accord. Responsibility for addressing these breaches rests with the Israeli government. The Lebanese government is tasked with overseeing and monitoring these violations by Israel, while the resistance movement plays a crucial role in safeguarding the successful implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
Sheikh Qassem stated that Israel exerts no influence over internal affairs or the group’s relationship with the Lebanese Army. He emphasized that Hezbollah derives its strength from advocating for the rights of Palestinians and Lebanese in their pursuit of reclaiming their territories.
Sheikh Qassem has announced intentions to assess the crises and conflicts faced, with the aim of extracting valuable lessons to foster progress and development across various sectors.
His Eminence extended his appreciation to all who have provided refuge to the displaced, acknowledging the support from both governmental and civilian organizations, as well as the nations that have contributed aid.
In a statement, Sheikh Qassem asserted that the ongoing hostilities in Syria are supported by the United States and Israel. He further claimed that the Takfiri groups operating within Syria are acting as instruments for both Israel and the U.S.
Sheikh Qassem asserted that Hezbollah will align with Syria in efforts to counter the ongoing aggression.
“A warning has been issued regarding what is perceived as an aggressive expansionist initiative by Israel, with a call for support towards resistance efforts against the state. It is alleged that extremist factions are seeking to alter Syria’s longstanding stance of opposition into one that aligns with Israeli interests.”
